MOCKERS OF THE RESURRECTION

It seems very strange that so many unbelievers, atheists, infidels, skeptics, agnostics and the like utterly refuse to implement serious powers of reason, intellect and logic regarding the Holy Spirits's inspired record of Jesus Christ being raised from the dead. If only these pompous elites would rid their hearts of pride and prejudice and simply examine the evidences, then perhaps their hearts could be opened to the truth of God's Word.
This mocking of unbelievers is nothing new as no doubt the apostle Paul and many other first century preachers and Christians often encountered such attitudes. For instance, we can only imagine what Paul witnessed as he entered the idolatrous city of ancient Athens. The Bible says, "his spirit was stirred in him." Despite the emotional struggle, Paul did what he always did, he preached the Gospel, which included the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Notice the people's response: "Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoics, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? Other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus and the resurrection" (Acts 17:18).
Question: Have things changed very much? No, not really. The scholarly intellectuals of our time continue to mock God, often negatively influencing the minds of young people. How tragic. Brethren, let us do our jobs in proclaiming the resurrected Christ in this old sinful world, especially to our own children.
