In the Lord's church, we often sing "Kneel At The Cross," a great, classic hymn. The title is most likely a figurative expression for demonstrating faith in God through obedience to the commandments of Jesus Christ (John14:15).

Perhaps it could be said that we initially kneel at the cross when we obey the gospel of Christ and are added to the church. When one is baptized into Christ, he or she contacts the blood of the Lord Jesus and arises to walk as a new creation - a saved person - having buried the old man of sin in the watery grave of baptism.

Notice the words of the apostle Paul in Romans 6:1-4, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into his death? Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

Thanks be to God that He has provided a way to be cleansed from our past sins and lawless deeds. We should also be exceedingly thankful that the Father and Son sent the Holy Spirit to teach us how to live as Christians through the inspired Word of God.

Our heavenly Father pleads with us to kneel at the cross of His Son throughout the days of our pilgrimages on this earth. Let us not waiver, become lukewarm or disregard His Word in any way. By doing so, we can be found faithful at the last trumpet, having joyfully served Him all the days of our lives.

Yes, kneel at the cross, for Jesus will most certainly meet us there.
