As we all know very well Christians are not immune from grief, sadness an sorrow. Even Jesus experienced these very human emotions. While the world struggles to find answers and coping mechanisms, members of the Lord's church have these things at their very fingertips. Truth is, we don't always utilize them properly, but God has provided numerous means by which we may cope with the sorrows and anxieties of this life.

We must be reminded that the Bible is not without instruction and encouragement regarding this matter. Note the words of the Psalmist in 55:22: "Cast thy care upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

Many Christians who are broken and suffering ofter wonder where God is. The answer is easy to find: He is with us, right by our sides. He may very well be allowing us to suffer for a season, for even our Lord endured the same. Overcoming trying times or even perpetual sadness can make us stronger - but only if we allow the Lord Jesus to lead us out, if we allow the Master to calm our storms. It's all about trusting Him. "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might" (Ephesians 6:10). While all we have noted in this article is true, be aware that Satan can use brokenness, sadness and sorrow to our detriment, all in an attempt to divert our attention away from the Lord. Sadly, this ploy has worked all too often within the rands of the body of Christ. Do not let it happen. It is not worth our souls.
