WALKING IN SUNLIGHT

Most of us in the Lord's church love singing "Walking in Sunlight," a beautiful and uplifting hymn for sure. Basically, the song is metaphorical in nature, teaching us about the beauties of the spiritual light and warmth that Christians receive from Heaven itself. Our God and Father sends the glorious rays of salvation from the Gospel of His Dear Son, Jesus the Righteous. We are so thankful the Lord God of Heaven brightens our lives with the saving message of the cross.
As important as the suns itself in nourishing human beings, as well as plant and animal life, the true Light of the World is Jesus. Notice the words of the Savior in John 8:12, "...I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." In this context, Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees, after telling the woman taken in adultery to go and sin no more. How sad it is to think that many of the Jewish religious leaders never came to the true Light.
Yes, Jesus is our true Light, and so let us determine in our hearts to walk in His light for the remainder of our days. If we do that, we are assured of a heavenly home where light and warmth exist but not from the sun. "An there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever." Remember our hymn? "...Singing His praises, gladly I'm walking, Walking in sunlight, sunlight of love." Amen!
