JESUS: CAN'T DO WITHOUT HIM

We as Christians, faithful members of God's church, live in the midst of turmoil and trouble. As we well know, the world and our nation are filled with wickedness of every sort. Consequently, we cannot afford to forget that the devil is active, and that he will never give up trying to destroy the Lord's church.

Unfortunately, we have often seen in the lives of our brothers and sisters in the Lord - and perhaps even our own lives - how that sin can enter into the heart of a Christian, ultimately laeding to devastating consequences. These far reaching effects of sin can decimate us emotionally, physically and spiritually. It should go without saying, but Christians cannot afford to follow destructive paths.

But, there is good news! We have Someone in our corner. We have Someone on our side with whom Satan cannot contend. We have access to Someone who has the power to destroy the devil and his works. Who is this Someone, you may ask? It is the Lord Jesus Christ, of course, the Son of the living God.

I think it would be very much in order for us to reemphasize that Jesus is our Advocate and the Propitiation for our sins. The Scriptures could not be clearer: "My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world" (1 John 2:1-2). Praise be to the God of Heaven for His bountiful gift!
