ARE MARCHING ORDERS SUSPENDED?

Through the centuries, many a regiment, battalion or army have been given their marching orders. Good soldiers follow orders. On the other hand, insubordinate ones do as they please with little to no regard for the commands of their superiors. Often, battle plans are revised and the direction of the soldiers is altered. Yes, sometimes those in command must call an audible in order to achieve their strategic plans.

After the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, He issued His marching orders, often referred to as the Great Commission. This directive - initially given to His apostles - had one primary objective: to reach the lost with the saving message of the gospel. "And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen" (Matthew 28:18-20).

Questions: Has the Lord suspended His marching orders? NO! Has he called an audible to suit our busy lifestyles? NO! Has He revised the battle plan in order to accommodate the ever-changing philosophies and moral standards of today's modern culture? Absolutely not! Jesus' marching orders have not been suspended, so let us obey His orders and go, In the Commission, Jesus said He would be with us until the end of time. Therefore, His marching orders remain valid until He comes again.
