A FEW IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

Salvation is the most important subject our hearts can entertain, so I think it is good to consider a few questions designed to get right to the heart of the matter for every member of the church of the New Testament. Let us begin with this one: Are you in the faith? That is, are you living according to the Gospel system of salvation given by Christ - the teachings of His New Covenant? Maybe this is even plainer: Are you a Christian?
Notice, I did not ask if you have been baptized into Christ for the remission of sins and added to the Lord's one, true church. It was this: Are you living according to the commandments of the New Testament - living in the faith? Are you a Christian?
Some of you could be thinking, :Of course I'm a Christian, Steve. Don't you know me by now?" Again, are you really and truly a Christian? Am I really and truly a Christian? We do well to seriously evaluate these questions. After all, the salvation of our souls depends on it.
Furthermore, to be exceedingly blunt, could it be the case that many members of the church of Christ are self-deceived? Have some in the body of Christ falsely convinced themselves they are saved - in good standing with God and in full fellowship with Him, when they are not? Consider Matthew 7:21-23.
Dear Brethren, let us not wait until it is too late to properly address these questions. Hell is too hot. Heaven is too precious. Don't wait.
